All kinds of data have been preserved about the Naturalis collection, for example in the form of notebooks, correspondence, manuscripts, diaries, catalogues, photographs, prints and register books. Together they form the Naturalis archive and image collections. These can be acquired online.

Naturalis has more than 300,000 books and journals on the natural world and biodiversity, from leading international journals to special old prints. The library collection of the Dutch Entomological Society is also housed at Naturalis.
