I'm a guest researcher studying crabs. My interest has been in crabs (Brachyura) since childhood. At the moment I am working on crabs from East Africa (Mozambique) and our own crabs from the North Sea. I focus on external characteristics and distribution patterns. I am working on a book about the crabs that can be found on our North Sea coast. In addition, I try to solve as many crab riddles as possible using the beautiful crustacean collection of Naturalis as a reference. In addition to my work for Naturalis, I am working on the health of cod around the North Pole for my PhD research at the Alfred Wegener Institute (Germany).
